A truly pleasant experience in a reality that is still rebuilding itself. Very welcoming service despite the difficulties (there was no water throughout the country and many restaurants were closed for this reason), professional and great hospitality. Four-legged friends welcome and warm hospitality for them too. The food is truly excellent, high quality raw materials, cooked respecting tradition. If you are in Amatrice you cannot miss tasting their Amatriciana, both white and red!!!!! Top quality/price ratio

One evening we went to the "Matru" restaurant located in the new food area of Amatrice. The place looks enchanting but this doesn't surprise me: even before the 2016 earthquake, in the central street, this restaurant had an impeccable aesthetic. Once inside there is a wooden statue that represents the post-earthquake rebirth and on the tables there are wooden place cards in the shape of a horse, a great passion of the owner and chef Daniele. In a relaxing and courteous atmosphere, we had a gricia, an amatriciana, a land appetizer, an excellent slice of beef with porcini mushrooms, a side dish of courgettes with mint and excellent baked potatoes in their skins, coffee and gentian. For wine, an excellent Piceno red. Asking for an ashtray, I was brought a cigar case kit, with an excellent cigar attached, which I smoked very willingly. The price, per person, was 40 euros. The wine list as well as the dishes is clear, so as a final bill I expected exactly this figure. The restaurant also offers menus of 35,25 and 15 euros including house wine and coffee, certainly excellent. Beyond the tenacity of Daniele who lost his home and family in the earthquake but went on to propose dishes from his land and take part in various competitions, Italy is truly a very good chef, who offers dishes delicious, plentiful and delicious. If you want to get to know him, the place where he is located that envelops and enchants and enjoy his excellent cuisine, take a walk towards the beautiful Amatrice.

Easter lunch with top marks, from the starter to the first courses and finishing with the second courses.The place is very nice, the owner is a really kind and helpful person who pays attention to service, he loves his job and it shows.The guys in the room were very kind and always available for every request.

There aren’t enough stars in the world for Ma Trú. Hands down the best meal we had in Italy, the white amatriciana is to die for, we may drive here straight from the airport next time simply for that meal

We went for lunch today and had a great time!! Very kind and nice owners and super super good food!We chose the 15 fixed menu which included water, wine, red amatriciana, white (grey) amatriciana and coffee. Really excellent value for money!! And even better food quality!!One of the best amatricianas I've ever eaten!At the end of lunch, they thanked us for coming to Amatrice ... we want to thank you and we will definitely see you again!!

We came across this restaurant by chance during a motorbike tour and it was a very pleasant discovery. We were welcomed as if we were friends and the dishes, in addition to being delicious, were plentiful. Needless to say, excellent value for money, highly recommended.
